👉 Journey No. 9: SUNWAY HOTEL HANOI – THE FIRST “SYMPHONY” IN THE HEART OF THE CAPITAL 🏛️✨

⏳ Step back in time to Hanoi in 1996. Amidst the crisp air of the Old Quarter as the Capital began its transformation, Bachy Soletanche Vietnam took our first pioneering steps into the Northern market. The Sunway Hotel Hanoi project at 19 Pham Dinh Ho, Hai Ba Trung District, was more than just a building, it was the “foundation stone” that established Bachy Soletanche Vietnam’s reputation in the North.

Navigating Hanoi’s narrow streets and strict heritage preservation requirements, we introduced the most advanced foundation technologies of the era. We proved that regardless of complex geology or confined spaces, Bachy Soletanche Vietnam always delivers a solution.

📌 Project Description:
🕒 Construction period: October 1996 – January 1997.
🏢 Scale: Building – 9 storeys+ 2 basements.
📋 Scope of Works: Diaphragm wall and piling works.
  • 1,130 m² diaphragm wall (0.6m thick, 18m deep).
  • 7 barrettes (0.6m x 2.8m, average depth 48m).
  • 30 bored piles (diameters from Ø1.0m to Ø1.7m).

💡 Technical Highlights:
  • A Historical First: Introduced professional Diaphragm Wall and Barrette pile construction processes from the Soletanche Bachy Group to the Hanoi market.
  • Mastering Urban Space: Successfully executed in confined areas with heavy traffic while ensuring absolute verticality and the total safety of neighboring structures.
  • Flexible Solutions: A perfect synergy of various bored pile diameters and Barrettes to optimize the foundation for the 2-basement structure.
  • Enduring Quality: After nearly 30 years, the foundation system remains rock-solid, a testament to the “Bachy Soletanche Vietnam standard” that stands the test of time.

🌏 Significance & Legacy:
Sunway Hotel Hanoi is the pride of the first generation of Bachy Soletanche Vietnam engineers who ventured North. This project was where we mastered the Capital’s unique geology, refined our expertise in urban construction, and built lasting trust with our partners.

🏨 While many know Sunway Hotel Hanoi as a landmark of luxury in central Hanoi, we take the most pride in the 48-meter-deep “spine” that our team passionately constructed beneath it.
