👉 Journey No. 16: UNION SQUARE – BUILDING 6 BASEMENT LEVELS IN THE HEART OF SAIGON 🏙️✨

If Vincom Center Dong Khoi marked a pioneering milestone in shaft grouting technology for barrette piles, Union Square (formerly Vincom Center A) further demonstrated Bachy Soletanche Vietnam’s expertise in delivering complex underground structures in one of the busiest locations in Ho Chi Minh City.
Surrounded by Dong Khoi, Le Loi, Nguyen Hue, and Le Thanh Ton streets, Union Square is not only an iconic commercial destination but also one of the most challenging underground construction projects undertaken by Bachy Soletanche Vietnam.

📌Project Information:
🏢 Project: Union Square (Vincom Center A)
🕒 Construction Period: January 2011 – June 2011
🏗️ Scale: High-end mixed-use development with a deep basement system in the heart of District 1.
📋 Scope of Works: Diaphragm walls and mass shaft grouting for barrette piles.

💡 Technical Highlights:
🔹 Construction took place within District 1’s “Golden Quadrangle,” requiring careful planning and precise execution to minimize disruption to surrounding buildings and traffic.
🔹 Large-scale underground works adjacent to existing structures demanded strict control of ground movement, diaphragm wall stability, and overall structural quality.
🔹 All construction stages, from diaphragm wall excavation and slurry control to reinforcement cage installation and deep concrete placement, were carried out in accordance with Vietnamese and international standards.
🔹 The project further showcased Bachy Soletanche Vietnam’s capability in delivering complex underground works for major urban developments.

🌆 Significance & Legacy:
Today, visitors to Union Square rarely realize that beneath its elegant spaces lies a sophisticated underground structure built through the dedication and expertise of Bachy Soletanche Vietnam’s engineers and workers.
More than a construction project, Union Square reflects our ability to build deeper, safer, and more precisely in one of the most densely developed areas of the city.
Every diaphragm wall and every foundation pile helped create the solid base that allows this landmark development to stand strong over time.

❓ When walking along Nguyen Hue Walking Street or visiting Union Square today, have you ever imagined the extensive underground structure hidden beneath your feet?
