📌 Project Description:
Construction period: 10/2014 – 06/2015
Scope of works:
• 25,258 m² diaphragm wall, 1.5 m thick, 44.0 m deep
• 165 bored piles, Ø1.5 m, 44.0 m deep
• 165 kingposts, up to 38.5 m length
Project Scale: A modern underground station with 4 basement levels, serving as a central interchange that connects the metro system with Ho Chi Minh City’s busiest commercial and cultural hub.
💡 Technical Highlights:
This was the first underground metro station executed by Bachy Soletanche Vietnam, requiring the highest level of expertise in diaphragm wall construction, bored piles, and kingposts under complex geological conditions in the city center.
Working at depths of 44m, right next to the 100-year-old Opera House heritage building, demanded absolute precision to meet progress while preserving a historic landmark.
🌆 Significance & Legacy:
Groundbreaking took place in October 2014 and completion followed in 2015, as Vietnam celebrated its 70th National Day. Today, during the joyful atmosphere of the 80th National Day, Metro Line 1 stands as a living symbol of historical continuity.
